Guimarães is one of the most important historical cities in Portugal, playing a crucial role in its formation as a country. It has been in existence for over a millennium, and its historic center has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 2001, which definitely makes it one of the largest tourist centers in the region. Its streets and monuments breathe history and enchant those who visit it.

-The Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, built in the 15th century by D. Afonso, 1st Duke of Bragança, and which, due to its later abandonment, would be rebuilt in the 1930s.

-The Chapel of São Miguel do Castelo is a late-Romanesque chapel, built in the 13th century, where, according to legend, D. Afonso Henriques was baptized.

-Largo da Oliveira owes its name to a centuries-old olive tree planted in this location. Surrounded by picturesque typical northern houses, it is the ideal starting point for walking through the city's streets.
