I made this short video to talk about some of my favourite snacky things I get when I'm in the Algarve. If you go into any supermarket/food store, you will find a lot of traditional looking Barrel type cheeses, however the one I thought I would talk about is my favourite, it's called Regional Saloio, it's a very creamy cheese and really nice in a roll with sliced meat and salad or as a snack or with some wine.

You do get other cheeses with very similar names but I tried one or two of them and they were not nice, although if you like really strong cheese you might like the other ones. you can find more info on this cheese like the region and the meaning behind the name:

My other favourites are Pao brasileiro bread, it's like a baguette, you can make a nice sandwich with this. You can get them in Pingo Doce supermarket at the Padelria counter (Remember to take your ticket when queueing)

Tip: Don't buy more than 2 or 3 for the day unless you're going to be feeding a lot of people as they dry up in one day, still okish nexy day but best fresh; same with all bread in Portugal or in hot countries.

the olives I like - azeitonas- you can buy in Mini Preco and a link is below:

I woul also highly recommend visiting the market, which is down near the big bridge near the Gale hotel in Tavira. There is a fish stall where they cater for Englsih speaking and will clean the fish for you if you want. I got a tuna steak, they cut the size you want, or you can buy most types of whole fish. There is also shops surrounding the market and you can get plenty of fresh fruit and veg. Don't forget to get some freshly squeezed orange juice out the front of the market at main road, you'll see a big plastic orange, or you can also get in supermarkets.
