The Homem is a Portuguese river, an affluent of the right bank of the Cávado river, with a length of 37 kilometers, is born in the Gerês mountain range.
After the spring, in the municipality of Terras de Bouro, it crosses the municipalities of Amares and Vila Verde.
It is the affluent that contributes most to the total flow of the Cávado river.
In this river is located the hydroelectric exploitation of Vilarinho das Furnas, with a useful capacity of the reservoir of 69.7 hm³.
