Portuguese summer is in full swing. August heat is here.
Today we visit the area around Rua Morais Soares and Arroios. We start at Praça Paiva Couceiro, head down Rua Morais Soares, where we come across the best barbershop in town, and we then pass by the Arroios Market before arriving at Alameda.
An alameda is a wide way lined with trees on both sides. This one also features an impressive water fountain, and is known as Alameda D. Afonso Henriques or Alameda do Técnico for its proximity with the main campus for Portugal's largest Engineering Faculty, the "Técnico". It should not to be confused with the Alameda da Universidade, which is further north and is surrounded by most other Faculties.
