The Eric Williams Memorial Lecture makes its digital launch at The University of Texas at Austin (formerly at Florida International University), with a pre-recorded conversation between Drs Hollis "Chalkdust" Liverpool,Senior Academic Fellow at the University of Trinidad and Tobago and noted calypsonian and Meagan Sylvester,Senior Lecturer for the Research Methods and Sociology academic programmes at the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies in Trinidad and Tobago.

Founded in 1999, the series honors the late Eric Williams (1911-1981), scholar, statesman, and Head of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago from 1956 until his death in 1981, by hosting conversations about global activism and culture.

The interviews will be accompanied by a digital exhibition, Celebrating Eric Williams, co-coordinated between the Eric Williams Memorial Collection and UT’s Black Diaspora Archive and mounted by Black Diaspora Archivist Rachel Winston.
