The historical Palacio Estoril Hotel's bar was the hub in World War II for British spying and gathering, including Ian Fleming who was inspired to create James Bond 007, based on Popov a double agent that Fleming was watching and following while staying at the Palacio Hotel. In fact,, scenes of the hotel were in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" movie with the current doorman and bell man both appearing! This is the hotel you will choose when you are planning to be in Estoril, Cascais or just south of Lisbon. It is a five star hotel. We put the Palacio Golf Course in our Lisbon Golf Trail.
