Located at the highest point in the village of Alandroal, Castelo do Alandroal is a military building from the late 13th century.
This medieval fortress is a typical Gothic fortification, with a tendency to be oval in plan, with a keep tower attached to the fence and the main door, the so-called Porta Legal, protected by two square towers, slightly advanced to allow a greater vertical range of shot over the entrance.
The keep is a quadrangular structure divided by three floors, whose access to the interior is covered. Some time later, the parish church of the town was added to it and, in the 18th century, its terrace was used to implant a clock tower.

Situado no ponto mais elevado da vila do Alandroal, o Castelo do Alandroal é uma construção militar do final do século XIII.
Esta fortaleza medieval é uma típica fortificação gótica, de planta tendencialmente oval, com torre de menagem adossada à cerca e porta principal, a designada Porta Legal, protegida por duas torres quadrangulares, ligeiramente avançadas para permitir um maior raio de tiro vertical sobre a entrada.
A torre de menagem é uma estrutura de planta quadrangular dividida por três pisos, cujo acesso ao interior se encontra entaipado. A esta adossou-se, algum tempo depois, a igreja matriz da localidade e, já no século XVIII, o seu terraço foi aproveitado para implantar uma torre do relógio.
